What a week!

Hi, everyone!

Just a quick post to say how much I enjoyed seeing you all last week. I got home on Friday (after more school visits with Just Imagine Book Centre in Essex) exhausted but very happy.

It was great talking with so many of you about what you're reading. But do you know what? I completely forgot to take a note of your Recommended Reads on the display in the library! So if you put something up there that you think I might enjoy reading, would you mind putting it in the comments, below, please?

Oh, and something you might be interested in. Do you remember how some of us were talking about the fact that books aren't for boys or for girls, but for readers? One of the other authors on the blog I contribute to posted something interesting there, about how even though she just writes books, people keep insisting that they're books for girls. Take a look, and see what you think!

More soon!

John

They include One Dog And His Boy (our class book), Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke, Endymion Spring by Matthew Skelton, Mad, Bad & Just Plain Dangerous by John Townsend, Young Samurai by Chris Bradford, Clean Break by Jacqueline Wilson, Ninja Death Touch by Chris Bradford, Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce, How To Steal a Dragon's Sword by Cressida Cowell, Shadow by MIcahel Morpurgo, Spook's Curse and Spook's Sacrifice by Joseph Delaney, Young Werewolf by Cornelia Funke, Ghost Knight by Cornelia Funke, Knightley & Son by Rohan Gavin, Beast Quest by Adam Blade, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck by Jeff Kinney, Dog in the Dungeon by Lucy Daniels and The Dotty Dalmation by Anna Wilson.

Mr Arden is reading Stinkbomb and Ketchup-Face and the Badness of Badgers but we don't know who it's by. Mr Biddle is reading The Recruit by Robert Muchamore.

We look forward to seeing you again.

    Bye John.

  2. Hi, 4JB! I had an absolutely terrific time with you, thanks. It was great just to hang out in your classrooms and talk about books. And I'm so glad to hear your dance show was such a success! Well done.

Thanks for letting me know what you're reading. I loved One Dog and His Boy! It's one of my favourite books of the last couple of years. I've just finished The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness, and am about to start Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantell - it's one of those books for grown-ups that won lots of prizes, and everyone says it's really good, so I'm looking forward to starting it.

    Take care!

    John
